Beatrix Potter 150th Anniversary at Mothercare

Who doesn't love Peter Rabbit or Flopsy, Mopsy and Cotton-tail? The stories of Beatrix Potter are familiar to so many generations and this year marks her 150th anniversary. To celebrate, Mothercare have created a collection which I fell in love with at their SS16 launch last autumn. So, when they sent through an Easter basket with some pieces from their collection a few weeks ago, I knew I had to share it with you.

The range includes clothing, toys, bedding and newborn gifts so they really do have everything covered!
In our Easter basket, along with Peter Rabbit himself, were these old-fashioned wooden blocks with characters from the stories, as well as numbers and letters to help your little one learn their ABC and how to count. I love the nostalgia of wooden toys, but they are also really good quality and worth their price-tag as they will be passed down through siblings.

The clothing range is absolutely beautiful! We were sent the Peter Rabbit romper and bodysuit both of which are adorned with stunning illustrations and embroidery. The traditional collars on both make them look really smart and add to the classic look that runs throughout the range, while the hidden poppers underneath make them practical to wear. We'll be reviewing some of the dresses in the range soon, so be sure to look out for that post. My only wish, is that the collection extended past 12 months, but you can't have it all can you?!

Although not available at Mothercare, the P is for Peter board-book is a beautifully illustrated ABC book which introduces many of Beatrix Potter's characters. While the 50p Royal Mint Peter Rabbit coin is a really special way of marking the author's anniversary and would make an original newborn or christening gift. Our little one loves the Peter Rabbit soft toy too, but you'll have to hop to it as it's been really popular in Mothercare that they've already done a restock!
