Britax Römer Car Seat Review

None of us take choosing our child's car seat lightly: it's one of those items that you know you've just got to get right. So, I want you to know that I don't take writing a review for one lightly either. Afterall, it's one of my babies testing it out.

For transparency, I should tell you that I was gifted the ADVANSAVIX IV R car seat but there was no obligation to write a review and this is not a paid post. In fact, I only agreed to try it because we already own two Britax Römer car seats (the Evolva 1-2-3) and they are great.

So, back to the review...

The ADVANSAFIX IV R is a forward-facing seat from 9 months to 12 years. I know that forward-facing car seats divide opinion and that's not for me to advise you on. If you prefer rear-facing, I've got a competition on my blog (closing midnight 02.0319 GMT) to win a DUALFIX M i-SIZE. Having three children in car seats and with limited leg room (my husband is very tall) forward-facing was the only option. What settled me on ours were the safety features: v-shaped adjustable headrest; SecureGuard protecting the abdominal area; advanced side impact protection; top tether; 3 position easy recline.

Unlike other car seats we looked at, it was the only one we felt fully supported and protected our boy. He likes a snooze in the car so the recline and v-shaped adjustable head rest are ideal, plus he clearly  finds the very comfortable.

The seat was so easy to install which not only removes any frustration but also means we know it's installed correctly as there are no convoluted installation instructions (you know the type I'm referring to).

As he gets older, the seat will grow with him and the safety features such as the high-back booster and SecureGuard which holds the lap belt in place on the three-point harness so there's no need to get another stage car seat.

I, honestly, think the ADVANSAFIX IV R is first class and we could not be happier for our youngest to spend his drive time in a seat we completely trust.
