Winter Woolies

By far, the hardest working items in my wardrobe are winter woolies. Living by the coast (and with a dog and three children) they earn their place in the premium listing that is my small hanging space in the wardrobe - I'm always getting ready in such a hurry that I try to keep to something that resembles a capsule wardrobe. Plus, isn't storage an issue in every household?!

Anyway, enough exciting wardrobe chat. There are four jumpers that I'm snuggling up in now the weather's turned and they'll all see my through this winter and beyond.

I was after this Boden knit in one of the two other colour ways but ordered too late. I'm actually glad I did now though, as it pushed me out of my comfort-zone and the colours are really flattering: the ochre is a nod to Autumn but far enough from your face and anything else you'd pair it with that it doesn't dominate or limit you. It's such a soft cosy jumper thanks to the touch of cashmere, I've got a small and it's plenty big enough, but I really like that it's roomier than I would normally go for. If that's not for you though, go a size down.

I absolutely adore this Joules red jumper. They bring out such lovely intarsia's each season and this Winter is no exception. It's a lighter knit that's perfect for layering a jacket or coat over and the crew-kneck style is very me. I am *ever so slightly* obsessed with dogs, so this chap in his wooly hat is spot on. The colour and slimmer fit are so flattering and, now we're edging closer to December, it will be cheering up my wardrobe more and more. Joules have got lots of other designs and colour ways too, all just as lovely. I *might* have to order another one myself!

I wouldn't normally think of buying winter woolies from River Island, but this jumper has already made me rethink that. Its lightweight knit is deceptive as it's very warm and perfect without a jacket even on chillier days. Even better, when you've got washing piled up, I've thrown it in the wash a number of times already and it's still looking good.

Talking of chillier days, and another Boden number, this is perhaps the warmest jumper I have ever owned. The high neck and thick knit make it perfect for the when the mercury really drops. The colour is so lovely and, again, not one I would have picked but I think it would suit anyone. Plus, unlike lots of really warm jumpers, it's still incredibly smart (just what you'd expect from Boden) and would look lovely with trousers too.
