From The Bookshelf...'The Day The Crayons Quit'

Last year, Uncle Thomas bought Charlie the brilliant The Day The Crayons Quit and it's been a favourite in our household ever since.

A New York Times No.1 Bestseller, it's a really fun story that is made up of letters to Duncan from each of his crayons explaining why they quit. Each is really funny, but also has you sympathising with those that always get the boring jobs or are ignored as they're not exciting colours!
We have the hardback version, but you can also get it in paperback and, best of all, board book which is perfect for hands that grab at pages without realising how much damage they can do...this book is a keeper so you'll want to make sure you look after it so you can pass it through the generations (yes, it really is that good).

Although, in truth, our boy is too young for the story, he isn't too young to take in the illustrations or for the different voices we put on when we read the letters.
If you read my (Not So) Messy Play post from a few weeks ago, you'll have seen that we've been reading the book to Charlie when we've been using crayons ourselves so he can begin to match up the colours in the book with those he has.
